My story
My name is Tanya. Mathematics is the only subject I have been striving for excellence since I started school as a student. Now as an experienced Maths tutor and tutor having all qualifications and degrees in Mathematics, I work to bring the best out of my students and get satisfaction out of their progression. I am patient and I believe you can be better in Maths with perseverance, practice, and a tutor who knows how to boost student's confidence.
After successfully finishing my PGCE course in St Mary's University Twickenham, I was teaching Mathematics in secondary grammar school for 4 years. During that time I was polishing and shaping up as a teacher aiming to become an inspirational Maths teacher convincing the students firstly of the significant power of Maths in the world around us and secondly that understanding methods not learning them by heart makes this subject not difficult even can be enjoyable. I have become aware of students' needs to gain higher levels while making Maths exciting and students responsible learners.
​ I also have five years of tutoring experience on a one-to-one basis where I have been helping students to cope with Maths, to gain more confidence, to achieve higher grades in school, and enhance their mathematical abilities. I focus on a deep understanding of the topics through explanation in the best individual way chosen for each of the tutees.

I have considerable experience with all three major UK exam boards—Edexcel, OCR, and AQA. This in-depth familiarity with their specific syllabi, examination styles, and assessment criteria enables me to provide targeted and effective tuition, tailored to meet the unique requirements of each exam board. Whether it’s preparing for standard coursework, mock exams, or final assessments, I ensure that my students are well-equipped to excel.

There are two interesting and rewarding aspects of teaching/tutoring that I found during my experience. The first aspect is to help young people raise their self-esteem. Second, there is never-ending learning from both students and teachers. A teacher should be always in the process of developing their teaching skills to ensure that students make progress all the time.
Tanya has been fantastic with my daughter who is currently in Yr10 studying for GCSES.

I was searching for in-person lessons but came across Tanya who offered me online instead. That's the best choice I have ever made. It is very convenient and my daughter loves having online sessions with Tanya. She is incredibly knowledgeable, patient and an outstanding communicator.
